Holding the Line on Taxes and No More Cost Increases
From the gas pump to the grocery store and back home, Oregonians simply can’t afford more cost increases, inflation, and taxes from our elected officials. While Oregonians are paying among the highest Income Taxes in the country, drivers are also paying among the highest gas prices in the country as well. Families simply can’t afford more taxes and anti-business policies coming from their state government.
Lucetta will stand against new taxes that place an unnecessary burden on Oregon families and small businesses so they can keep more of what they earn.
Getting Tough on Crime
Enough-is-Enough. Violent criminals have run our streets with no consequences for long enough. Over the last two years, leaders in Salem have passed policy after policy that have enabled a soft-on-crime approach that has left families looking for safer neighborhoods. While radicals continue to call for defunding of our local police and more lenient punishment for those with drugs, our communities have become unsafe.
Lucetta will support our local police and make sure soft-on-crime policies like catch and release for property crimes, and cashless bail and early release of violent criminals are overturned. Above all, our community deserves to be safe from crime and lawlessness.
Improving Education by Empowering Parents
Our schools in Oregon are nationally recognized for all the wrong reasons—low graduation rate and consistently poor performance among student achievement rates. Our kids deserve better than a competition to see how woke our schools can become from out-of-touch politicians. Parents have a right to to be engaged and have their voices heard in their child’s education. It’s time that we demand that parents have their voice back and our schools are focusing on a curriculum that helps prepare our students to be successful citizens in the workforce.
Lucetta will ensure parents have a voice in their child’s education and they have a choice of schooling that is best for their child.
Supporting our Farmers, Foresters and Agriculture
Growing up on a farm, Lucetta knows how important our farmers and our ag producers are to Oregon’s economy. They can feed the world if we enact common-sense policies at the state level that allow them to do their jobs. In recent years, the legislature has only made it more difficult for family farms and nurseries to operate with new taxes and more rigorous mandates. It’s time that we support our farmers and ag producers.
Lucetta will make sure our farmers, foresters, and agriculture producers can do their jobs without the state government getting in the way.
Advocating for Small Businesses
When COVID-19 hit, unnecessary shutdowns and mandates destroyed our neighborhood stores and restaurants while helping the big chain stores remain open. Lucetta knows the impact that mandates and bad policies have had on our local District 24 businesses. As a businesswoman and mother, and she has seen the struggles of signing both sides of a paycheck in Oregon. She understands that successful businesses lead to thriving communities, not only through the revenue they generate that keep our communities safe and our infrastructure humming, but through the needed jobs they provide. We have to advocate for our small businesses so that they can go back to fueling Oregon’s economy.
Lucetta will work to roll back unnecessary regulations and taxes on businesses and stand against mandates and policies that would burden our small businesses.
Protecting Our Constitutional Rights
Everywhere we look, our Constitutional Rights and Right to Bear Arms are being challenged by the state government. We have to defend the Constitution and protect our individual liberties and rights in order for “We the People” to have a voice again.
Lucetta will always work to protect our Constitutional Rights, including the Right to Bear Arms.
